Hailey Morgan began writing songs at the impressive age of eight. These first songs were targeted to a much younger audience, but they had their own personality and character.
Now after many years Hailey Morgan writes her music sitting at her piano in the warmth of her home. She first comes up with a chord progression she likes, then closes her eyes and plays the chords as she croons out different melodic phrases. Sometimes the lyrics and melody arrive hand in hand and sometimes the lyrics are worked on last. This artistic process continues until Hailey Morgan is more than satisfied with her completed song. This musical journey can usually take anywhere from 30 minutes to numerous days.
Hailey Morgan's Music takes on many faces from the light of hope, to the colors of love, to the darkness of heartache. She uses emotion and imagery to develop her themes and take the listener on an unforgetable ride. Hailey Morgan credits her ease with words to her insatiable appetite for reading books.
Hailey Morgan is also a creative writer. She hopes to have her novels published and have them read by thousands of young minds like O.R. Melling, Cornelia Funke and J.K. Rowling to name a few.
Hailey Morgan classifies her songs as a mix of Pop/Rock. This makes her a great cross-over artist in both genres and opens her up to a greater audience. Hailey Morgan brings an edge to Pop with her strong Kelly Clarkson type power-vocals as well as bringing a vulnerability to Rock with her angelic Sarah McLachlan type-airiness.
Hailey Morgan continues to perform at venues in and around Vancouver as well as on Vancouver Island and the neighbouring Islands.
Hailey Morgan is currently in the studio working on her debut album to be released this summer.
